In my experience, when the art market goes up and down, up and down, that’s good for art - volatility has been very good for us dealers, because that’s when people want to buy a hard asset.
Christophe Van De Weghe
Founder of Van De Weghe
Research has shown that fine art can function as a risk-reducing element in a portfolio because of its low correlation to equities or bonds, while also being a real asset, which provides a hedge against inflation.

FAQ’s
Minimum Investments levels start at £2,000.
The holding period largely depends on the investment outlook of each individual investor. At the minimum, we look to hold works for at least 12 months before materialising any accrued profits.
Whilst all works of art sold through our investment model are classified as investment grade, an artwork does not have to be an original to be considered an investment. In fact, over recent years limited editions have shown significant growth, due to lower access points in the market and higher transactional volumes. Consequently, they are now a proven segment of the art market vital in providing higher levels of liquidity due to the lower barrier of entry required by investors and collectors alike.
In an industry known for its lack of transparency, we pride ourselves in offering a route to market that presents investors of all levels an opportunity to not just believe in our model, but trust and thoroughly understand our investment processes. With many traditional market participants struggling to innovate in an ever-evolving world, we have cemented a forward thinking foundation in our business practices.
